Good morning, good evening, good afternoon. Wherever & whenever you’re reading this. I am so grateful to be able to share this effective life journal with you!
So it is the day after the night before…
What a beautiful day to remember for such a beautiful couple. Ivana and RJ really put on a great party for all of us. It was a later start than I am used to with a 6pm wedding. Even with all the advanced time Evie and I found ourselves literally running to get the bus from the hotel to the venue, only to be high five’d by the groom’s father as we embarked the bus.
Upon arrival to the church we had such a grand welcoming by the most perfect place to tie the knot…
Now time for the ceremony, it was 90% in Spanish, which was a tough challenge to truly follow, but I’ll tell you what, some things transcend language! One of which is the love between two people and all the family sharing it with them. I was also so incredibly proud of Evie carrying the train, and starting the series of lines performed by the whitenesses!!!
Following the church we walked around the back to find the house of Ivana’s uncle, which was spectacular down to every detail. Such a blessing to be able to experience this location and enjoy some appetisers being passed around.
The final twist to the night came when we all boarded a shuttle to head to the venue for the evening meal, and dancing! It was like a fairytale, and by day it seems to be an old door sales warehouse. But look at the calibre of door they have on sale…
Post meal, and speeches - FYI Evie smashed her speech, as we well knew she would - we took to the dance floor!!! Something which has recently become a common place to find me at weddings.
We met so many amazing couples at the wedding and the group we partied with had been such great sports; getting involved in every song and providing constant highlight reel material from the night.
So now you’ve caught up on last night’s festivities you’ll be surprised to know it was a quiet day today. Late to leave bed, to get a coffee, then a drive to a seaside town near where we are staying, called L’Escala. This was 20 minutes away, and an absolute dream to visit. We walked along the coast and after 20 minutes arrived on a sandy beach… something not so popular on this coast from what I’ve seen. So naturally we walked on the water and as always left only footprints.
I am now sat in the hotel room, really tired, but so proud to have been a part of this wonderful weekend, and now to look forward to the boat day tomorrow.
