Happy Saturday, I hope you all had an amazing day, I know I did!

It started with a 10am walking tour hosted by an incredibly friendly polish guy. It started at the old marketsquare and ended in Haga. We stopped at several places, learning about the history of the city, the many statues, how it was voted the most sutainable place to live…. my kinda place. I may do a more indepth post about this on my main blog feed.

Post tour, there was a visit to a local artist where I bought some postcards, and a book in Swedish to help me learn the language a bit better. Plus the end page was worth it. “Slut” is Swedish for end.

Nuno and I then got some FIKA, the most amazing thing about life in Sweden, it is just coffee and cake, but it is taken seriously and respected here. Plus dipping the cinamon bun into my black coffee is incredibly delicious.

Next stop on the day was to the large park in the city where there is actually a zoo, something I am a bit unsure about. I don’t enjoy watching animals in captivity, but then it was explained to me that this could still be a better place than if they could not survive out in the wild. I will hold my reservations still, it was a nice location nonetheless in the beautiful park.

On the way to the park, we spotted an advert for the first ice hockey game of the year here, this was an exciting time! The game was really tense, going to overtime and then penalty shootouts, sadly the team I was supporting lost, but it was an amazing atmosphere.
