My first Friday night and birthday evening were a welcoming event. My colleagues stepped up to make me feel welcome and part of the team here. I think I’m going to make some good friends whilst I am in Sweden.
After work, Victor and I got a chance to go climbing at Backs Boulder, a short walk from my apartment. Such a good gym, really friendly, although the increase in difficulty from 6A to 6B was huge… Some more training for me needed,
Now for the drinks and festivities, we met up at a place called Zamenhof. On the way over I took these cool city bikes over the new bridge. The last time I was on this I was running the half marathon.
After the short delay, and a cocktail in the first place, we walked over to get some food and continue the night. One which included several beers and these little things called hot shots:
Finally today, I was able to get a longer sleep than I’ve had so far this week. I also managed to eat the cake my girlfriend sent me from the UK via a rather strange encounter with a delivery rider. Nonetheless the best gesture I had all day and a real touch of home.
I am going to spend some time exploring the nearby area from my apartment and start to plan how to function in this country. Like where to get a haircut, where is my nearest grocery store/ pharmacy? You know - the adulting things 🤓
