5 Youtube channels I use for sustainable information

I thought I’d share some background to what I like to watch for inspiration and source material when I look into the issues we face at the moment. Now I know using youtube is not always the best resource for data, but I like the delivery from these channels and believe them to be well respected and carry out good practices for how they research each topic.

Vox:

Now vox is a large company, but a company that makes incredible videos. They don’t solely focus on climate based but, dabble often in the topics surrounding climate. I have linked a really interesting video about the importance of beavers in the larger topic of rising temperatures globally.

As mentioned the quality and visual interest in these videos are of the highest order. So enjoy and learn…

Real Engineering:

Real engineering, is a channel I have been subscribing to for as long as I have been watching youtube videos. They offer really interesting takes and in-depth detail on the engineering behind specific topics focusing on climate change in a large number of videos.

similar to VOX, they do not exclusively focus on climate-related subjects, but when they do it is often with incredible insight. Just like the video linked below about exploring the opportunity to re-wild the Sahara.

Going Green Media:

Now, this channel is so great, it is run by a couple who seem to live an amazing life travelling and discovering cultures and projects tackling the problems we face. Something I would love to do in my lifetime.

This channel does not have a following the size of the previous two, but I hope they continue to grow in the future, as we need a lot more channels like this to help share and educate us on what amazing projects and solutions are happening all around us…

When are we all moving into an eco village?

Patagonia:

You might know about Patagonia for making amazing clothes and being a company for the climate!

Well, they also make the most amazing feature-length documentaries. Ones which I will actually spend a weekend evening watching. “Stone locals” has been one of my favourites so far…

Our Changing Climate:

Last but by no means least is Our Changing Climate. This like going green media is focused on sustainable videos. They go into some really good detail whilst keeping the user engaged. Please watch the video below about fast fashion, it might make you think twice before buying off the high street.

These channels are just 5 of many I subscribe to. If you want me to revisit this post and add more to the list let me know.

Maybe one day I’ll be doing my own videos for you all to watch and enjoy :P.
