So I have survived my first night in Sweden, I have been blessed with some great co-workers who met up with me in the evening to have some dinner and drinks for my first evening. This made the transition more comfortable, and meant I was able to attempt to learn more Swedish… I am really bad.

In the afternoon I had to register for my Swedish personal number. An easy process to register. However, I was quoted 18 months until I’d hear back… after looking into it this was a mistranslation from 1.5 years to 1.5 months… I hope.

Today I am looking forward to being back in an office environment, and having adjustable desks (a must for me to avoid a bad back later in life 😂). I will also stock up on household essentials and experience more domestic life here.

Below is an image of the blocks of housing I’ve managed to rent out. It is a cool location on the water, with views over to the centre of Gothenburg,

Lastly, please enjoy an image of a glass of wine with some friends and the incredible architecture behind it. It was a near-perfect day. Everyone is incredibly welcoming and eager to help.
