5 Things to always take travelling

Did you know I like to travel? Well if you didn’t… I do!

Over time I have found a routine of 5 things I always bring that are not my passport, wallet and phone. So without rambling on for too long, here they are:

Water bottle:

This one feels a bit obvious but it makes a big difference I find, when you consciously bring a bottle with you, you’re likely fill it up, drink more water, but most importantly reduce the amount of plastic bottles you’ll buy. Simple I know but if everyone did this, the impact would be huge!!!!

Coffee cup:

Just like the water bottle, it works with coffee cups, I have a really cool keep cup which I love, and Evie has this amazing collapsing coffee cup! This is amazing as when you don’t need it, it stores so nicely in your bag without all the dead space being used taken.

Similarly to the water bottles, by bringing your own cup, you’re reducing the amount of single use coffee cups in the world, which is always a good thing!!!

If we can all make a difference like this, the collective impact will be huge.

Journal:

Now enough of the eco preacher, this one is something I love using, be it electronic on my IPad/phone, or in a physical book.

The act of journalling the days, trips and experiences help me recall more information in the future, and provides me with lovely things to look back and read.

I think also the mental health benefits of journalling make you a more balanced person, as you’re externalising all good and bad thoughts, feeling, and experiences. It has been an absolute game changer for me!

Earbuds:

This is something which is maybe a bit unique, but I have wireless headphone which I can then share with someone I am travelling with, makes all things shared much better. As I am writing this my girlfriend and I are sharing headphones listening to some podcasts, and it makes the experience more collectively enjoyable.

Running/comfy shorts:

This I feel Is an absolute must, comfy shorts!!!

They make every evening better, help relax, and I find have that bit of home comfort which is sometimes what you need when you’re travelling.

Also if they’re running shorts, you’re able to wear them for park run when you’re travelling on Saturdays… Just me?!

Anyway if you have some things you can’t travel without, let me know in the comments.

See you all soon!
